GLASS BEADS
MoonRise carries many colors and shapes of glass beads and pearls, including stars, flowers, leaves, cathedral beads and larger glass pendants, shapes and sizes.
SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS
We carry a wide array of colors in round and bicone crystals in 4mm, 6mm and 8mm. For those of you who prefer cubes, we have 4mm and 6mm as well as some unusual drills and shapes including leaves, teardrops and hearts. We also have an extensive collection of Rivolis in both pendant sizes and 14mm, 16mm and 18mm. These Rivolis are the perfect centerpieces for many of the classes we offer at MoonRise, but if seed beads or embellishments isn't your thing, create instant jewelry with interchangeable pendant and earring findings specifically designed for use with Rivolis and other shapes. We can further entice you with glue-in gold, silver and copper components for the Swarovski frames and Rivolis, making it simple and fast for that last minute jewelry project.
PEARLS
The always appropriate pearl has been, and continues to be, a most popular choice in jewelry design. Since our move, our supply has dwindled somewhat, but we still have enough strands to satisfy your pearl needs. Speaking of pearls, many of you have expressed an interest in a pearl knotting class. Rest assured we are on it and Kim will be offering pearl knotting classes by the start of the new year or sooner if time permits.
SPECIALTY BEADS
We carry Venitian, lamp work, handmade ceramic, porcelain and clay beads, as well as carved bone, wood, buffalo horn pendants and fossil walrus ivory focals. Funky Chinese bumpy beads, resin, shell, beach glass, fiber optic cat's eye, tagua nut slices, seeds, nuts, hand-blown glass and many, many other bead types round out the collection of beads offered for sale here at MoonRise. We also have hand-made buttons from South Africa, dichroic glass beads and a great selection of indiviual vintage beads in throwback shapes and colors.
SEED BEADS
Right from the beginning, MoonRise has carried one of the most extensive color and size collections of Miyuki seed beads in the Greater Pittsburgh area and we continue to add to our seed bead inventory. We have 15's, Delicas, 11's, 8's, 6's, bugle, twisted hexes, triangles, drops, and 3mm and 4mm cubes. It seems that every time I plan an order to replenish the wall stock, I am tempted to add just a few more colors in each size and then, before you know it...oh, alright, I cave! How can I help it with the likes of Lizard Skin, Honey Butter, Dyed Silverlined Salmon Alabaster AB, it just goes on and on.
METAL BEADS
I always suggest adding either metal or black beads to a jewelry design because the addition of either of these two components really makes a piece "pop". MoonRise carries sterling silver, gold-filled, vermeil and two-tone copper and sterling silver beads as well as tons of lead-free pewter findings by "TierraCast" We carry beads in gold, silver and copper tones, jewelry brass, antique brass, black oxide and gunmetal. Even before copper became popular with the masses, it always held a special place in my designs. Many of you were able to take advantage of the huge selection available here at MoonRise before the others caught on to just how great and versatile this metal has become. Speaking of findings, we truly do have a mind boggling collection for you to choose from.
PRECIOUS METAL COLLECTION
Our precious metal findings include a wide variety of fasteners from toggles to box clasps, each one more interesting and perfect than the last, all available in sterling silver, gold filled and vermeil. Our many clasp suppliers are known for their unique and beautiful designs, so you'll find just the right one to finish off your design. We have jump rings, split rings, triggers, spacers, crimp ends and beads, wire guards, ear wires, headpins, cones, bead caps and many awesome clasps set with antique buttons, precious stones, pearls and even polymer clay. The selection is worth seeing up close and personal.
STRINGING MATERIALS
The options available to you at MoonRise are endless when it comes to the different stringing needs you will face with your jewelry designs. We go from basic monofilament and stretch cord to the finest hand dyed, hand made silk cord available. I recommend SoftFlex beading wire and we have spools in very fine (.010) to heavy (.240). We have leather and coated wire necklaces inclusive of sterling silver lobster clasps (add some beads, you are ready to go), soft knotted satin necklaces (craving a focal to be complete), leather and suede cord, Fireline, S-Lon macrame cord and thread, Nymo, metallic, sterling silver and gold plated beading wire.
TOOLS
We carry a wide variety of basic tools (sold separately or in kits) as well as technique and project specific tools, such as chasing hammers and bench blocks, Lacy's Stiff Stuff, Ultra Suede, all sorts of adhesives, needles, crochet hooks, Kumihimo disks, bobbins, macrame project boards, wire whackers, bead spinners and much more.
